“Committed disciples”
In today’s parable, there was a large crowd gathering and people from every town made their way to Him. What did Jesus see as He looked at the huge number of people? Jesus saw their hearts and perceived that there were people coming to Him with all kinds of attitudes and intentions. Thus, He started the parable of the Sower and the soil in order to challenge them to listen and live out what they understood in their own lives. Jesus did not want ‘fans’ but committed disciples who lived their lives, bearing good fruit of His life and love.

Today, Jesus challenges us to listen attentively to Him and apply His message to our lives. He wants us to be good soil, not hardened, rocky or thorny soil. He wants us to become committed disciples.

Question for reflection:
What kind of soil am I?
