Reflection
3 John 5-8, Luke 18:1-8
“Asking and waiting”
Prayer means asking but also waiting. It is not easy for many of us to wait. We are always in a mad rush to get what we want. We expect God to respond to all our requests soon and often on our terms.

Yet, waiting implies faith. Faith which opens our hearts to discover God’s presence in our daily lives. Faith which leads us to trust in God’s time, not ours. We need a quiet spirit to do nothing, but simply entrusting our needs to God with hope.

“I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” (Psalm 27:13 – 14)

Questions for reflection:
What kind of faith will Jesus find in me? A faith that asks and waits? Or a faith that asks and demands?
