30th May 2018 Wednesday 8th Week in Ordinary Time - St. Joan of Arc

Reflection
1 Peter 1:18-25, Mark 10:32-45
“Entering into Jesus’ logic”

Jesus had just spoken to His disciples regarding His coming passion and death.

However, none of them seemed to fully understand Him. The next moment, the sons of Zebedee went to Jesus in order to get positions of prominence. When the rest of the disciples heard about their request, they became indignant with the two brothers because they too were seeking status and power.

For Jesus, true power does not come from status and position, but from selfless service. It is a life freely lived for others.

Question for reflection:
Am I ready to live a life of selfless service, a life for others?
