“Life is about giving”
In this limited time here on earth, each of us has special gifts which God has given to us. Let us ask ourselves: How are we using these gifts for the benefit of those around us?
The last servant, in today’s gospel passage, did not use what he was given. Instead, he clung onto what he had. The other two servants faithfully gave all that they had and they gained even more.

Many times, we want to change something in our life - an addiction, a temper, a fear, etc. Yet, we feel powerless to make that change.

3 John 5-8, Luke 18:1-8
“Asking and waiting”
Prayer means asking but also waiting. It is not easy for many of us to wait. We are always in a mad rush to get what we want. We expect God to respond to all our requests soon and often on our terms.
Yet, waiting implies faith. Faith which opens our hearts to discover God’s presence in our daily lives. Faith which leads us to trust in God’s time, not ours. We need a quiet spirit to do nothing, but simply entrusting our needs to God with hope.
